2014 51st State Series

This series is an edited photo collage of images captured in Israel. The Roman ruins on the coast of Israel are mixed with images of graffiti written in English on the inside of the huge wall surrounding the West Bank calling out the "hypocrisy" of US financial support for Israel's militaristic state. It's not just the huge walls around Palestine, the several hundred feet of barbed wire surrounding these walls, or the Israeli teenagers armed with machine guns at the few entrances to Palestine. It's also most recently the Israeli action in Gaza that calls into question what exactly US tax dollars are supporting in Israel. This series seeks to point out the"wall beyond the wall" where the word "hypocrisy" and the US dollar sign have been spray painted.
