Not Without My Sketches presents four unique projects that were funded by Diego CoLabs, grants given to collaborative student projects at SFAI. The projects of a total of 11 artists' collaborative work include Compression, a sonic installation; See/Saw, a graduate literary magazine; MILK, a sculptural installation using recycled materials; and Kill for Art, a performative experiment inspired by Sophie Calle. Each group of artists worked with faculty mentors and with the other groups of Diego CoLabs cohort during the Fall 2016 semester. Curated by Mrinalini Aggarwal, the exhibition highlights the indispensable creative power of collaboration through student, faculty and curatorial engagement.
